PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police arrested a local man in connection with an early Sunday morning downtown shooting that later led to chaos amongst dozens of people and police.
Officers alleged that the suspect, 29-year-old Adrian Morris, fired the shots that hit two people. At least one of the victims is in critical condition.
When police arrived on the scene to help the victims, they said a crowd of about 50 people became combative. Five people are charged and are being held until their trial for allegedly interfering with the police’s aid to the gunshot victims.
Morris was arrested on Wednesday at his home for aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
