FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - A 21-year-old faces a preliminary attempted murder charge after a male was found unconscious about 3:15 a.m. Saturday on a sidewalk near South Hanna Street and Oxford Avenue.
The victim, also 21, was taken to the hospital and has life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound, Fort Wayne police said in an update from an earlier morning news release.
Markevius Click was identified as a suspect in the shooting. He was taken into custody about 8:10 a.m. by the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Task Force without incident in the 3000 block of Warsaw Street, the release said. He was being held at the Allen County Jail on the preliminary attempted murder - firearm enhancement and aggravated battery charges.
