Person airlifted to UAB after shooting in Pelham

Pelham, Alabama - The Pelham Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday evening. At about 10:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired on Oliver Street. A male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound, arrived at Shelby Hospital's emergency room and was subsequently airlifted to UAB. The severity of his injuries is currently unknown. The investigation is in its early stages. The Pelham Police Department has assured the community that there is no active scene and no danger to the public. As of 7 p.m. Sunday evening, no new information was available. The City of Pelham said more information might be available by Monday afternoon.
