PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - A foul odor led police to the decomposing body of a 27-year-old man in the trunk of a stolen car in Philadelphia on Wednesday, Sept. 17, authorities announced.
Officers from the 22nd District responded to the 2000 block of North Bambrey Street at approximately 9:12 p.m. for a report of a suspicious, unattended Dodge Charger, according to police.
When officers arrived, they confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen and detected a strong odor of decomposition coming from the trunk. Inside, they found a body wrapped in a sheet.
Medics pronounced the victim dead at 9:49 p.m. He was identified as Malik Tribble, 27, of the 1700 block of North 25th Street.
The Medical Examiner determined Tribble’s cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and his death has been ruled a homicide.
