TOLEDO, OHIO - One of two people charged in the death of a special needs child has been arrested after being on the run.
Samantha Hardiman, 29, was able to evade arrest until August 27. She’s facing a series of charges in the death of her 7-year-old son, Kristopher Snyder, in June 2023, and will appear in court on September 3.
Hardiman’s live-in boyfriend at the time of Snyder’s death, Joshua Mulvey, was arrested within days of the indictment back on Aug. 14.
Officers believe the boy’s death is a case of neglect. Prosecutors told 13 Action News the child was extremely malnourished.
An autopsy report revealed that malnutrition and dehydration associated with cerebral palsy and epilepsy were the cause of death. The coroner’s office ruled his death a homicide.
Hardiman is charged with two counts of murder, three counts of endangering children and one count of involuntary manslaughter.
Mulvey is charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering children.
