ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Six months after a man was killed in an Atlanta shooting, another suspect has been taken into custody in the case.
Atlanta Police said the Fugitive Unit and FBI Violent Crime Task Force took Toney Walton into custody on Sept. 2. APD said he's charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
On the night of March 2, officers responded to the 2000 block of Sylvan Road to respond to the report of gunfire at an apartment complex.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said Derrick Agee, 28, died in the shooting. A 33-year-old man was also injured in the shooting, APD said.
In May, APD said two men had been arrested in the case. One of the suspects, Robert Julian, was charged with murder and violating Georgia's controlled substances law. The other suspect at the time was charged with tampering with evidence.
Officers believed the situation began as "some type of narcotics transaction that was taking place." Warrants released following the previous arrests said Julian had drugs inside the house and intended to distribute them; the other suspect tried to clear the scene of drug items, the warrants add.
