MONROE, LOUISIANA - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman following an officer-involved shooting in Monroe on Sunday, Sept. 7.
OPSO says deputies on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive heard a large crash and observed a Jeep Cherokee traveling northbound in the roadway ditch of Highway 165 around 3 a.m.
Officials say a deputy stopped his vehicle in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, exited the vehicle and stood behind the driver door for safety.
They say the Jeep then turned around in the ditch and began traveling southbound, toward the deputy.
OPSO says the suspect accelerated and rammed into the front of the deputy’s vehicle, causing the driver door to hit the deputy.
They say the Jeep continued driving toward the deputy and the deputy shot at the vehicle. The suspect continued pushing the deputy’s vehicle before coming to a stop.
Officials say suspect 19-year-old Precious Williams was ordered out of her vehicle and arrested.
