VISALIA, CALIFORNIA — 23-year-old James Myron Mitchell of Tipton was found guilty of first-degree murder in a Tulare County Superior Courtroom.
Police said Mitchell shot a man with a rifle from 90 feet away after messaging him to come outside around 2 a.m. on July 13, 2023, at a residence in Tulare.
The shots were captured on nearby video surveillance.
Mitchell left the scene and the state and was on the run for nearly six months.
