BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA — Two local street gang members were arrested for their alleged involvement in a major drug operation in Bakersfield, said the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
The multi-agency investigation began in June 2025, when the KCSO Gang Suppression Unit started an investigation into a local criminal street gang and their alleged involvement in the sales of narcotics. Deputies identified the source of the drug supplier, and authorities conducted further investigation.
On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the KCSO Gang Suppression Unit, along with the BPD Major Narcotics Unit and the DEA, served search warrants at three properties connected to the investigation: the 100 block of East Pacheco Road, the 3100 block of Cottonwood Road, and the 3400 block of Lotus Lane.

Luis Marquez, 38, and Ruben Garcia, 55, were arrested for their alleged involvement in the sales of narcotics.
