BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA — The Birmingham Police Department announced the arrest of 53-year-old Maury Antonio Smith in connection with a shooting incident that took place on September 4, 2025, in the 900 Block of 47th Place North.
Smith, a Birmingham resident, was apprehended by the department's Crime Reduction Team in the 900 Block of 50th Street North. He is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on charges of attempted murder.
