WAUPACA, WISCONSIN - A man was arrested on child sexual assault charges after Waupaca police found a reported runaway 12-year-old girl in the back seat of his vehicle.
On Monday, police were attempting to locate a 12- year-old girl who had been reported as a runaway within the city of Waupaca.
Officers obtained a physical and clothing description of the girl and, with the assistance of the downtown city camera system, were able to locate her walking in the Main Street area.
Officers saw the child meeting with a man in an alley and shortly after lost sight of them. The alley was checked by law enforcement, where officers say they located the 12-year-old in the back seat of a vehicle with a man engaged in sexual activity.
The man is identified as 38-year-old Jaime Rodriguez Zambrano who had been working in the area at the time.
Zambrano was arrested and is charged with two counts of Child Enticement and two counts of First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. He is currently being held at the Waupaca County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
