OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA - Heartless thieves broke into a paraplegic man's home twice in one week, stealing medical equipment that the man depends on every day.
Alan Prudhome returned to his home in Oklahoma City last month to find his front door pried open and most of his valuables missing.
A week later, two burglars returned to his home while he was sleeping and stole more of his belongings. Prudhome's neighbor Johnny Johnson was later arrested and charged in relation to the second burglary.
Prudhome said the burglars stole cash, medication and thousands of dollars worth of medical equipment, including a wheelchair and controllers that he uses in his daily life.
During the second burglary, Prudhome awoke to the men in his room trying to rip off a bag strapped around his waist and ransacking his closet, where they found a box of his belongings, according to News 9.
Johnson has been charged with one count of first-degree burglary and remains in custody at the Oklahoma County jail.
Prudhome revealed he asked the robbers 'why are you doing this to me?' during the altercation.
