CINCINNATI, OHIO - A Kroger robbery suspect is under arrest after Cincinnati police say he punched and “maced” one of their officers and a store security guard as they tried to apprehend him.
James Wooten, 37, of Walnut Hills, is due in court Wednesday on two counts each of felonious assault and assault and single counts of robbery, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, court records show.
“While crime runs rampant in Cincinnati, criminals are now assaulting officers simply doing their job. Meanwhile, all we hear from city hall is about curfews. Thankfully, the officer will make a full recovery,” said Officer Ken Kober, leader of the union that represents Cincinnati police.
“Judges have to step up and protect the citizens they were elected to serve. The FOP will identify and make every effort to unseat judges who are endangering this county due to their soft-on-crime policies.”
