WASHINGTON - Two firefighters working to control the largest wildfire in Washington state were arrested on Wednesday by immigration officials.

Border patrol agents sparked outrage after targeting the two men while they were reportedly on the job, according to reports.

These arrests come as multiple wildfires burn across Washington, with two new blazes lighting up on Wednesday on the east side of the state.

The Seattle Times reported the incident on Wednesday evening, saying two people fighting the Bear Gulch fire on the Olympic Peninsula had been arrested earlier in the day.

The article cited interviews with unnamed firefighters and a video of a confrontation between the firefighters and law enforcement agents.

One video, taken by fellow firefighters and uploaded on TikTok, shows officials placing two men, who appear to be wearing firefighting uniforms, in handcuffs.

According to the caption, the firefighters had been sent to cut rounds of wood for the community in Shelton, Washington. 'This was the ending result,' the caption read, referencing the apparent arrest.
