2 teens charged after murdering 16-year-old Tyshaun in Charlotte North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA - Two teenagers were arrested following the deadly shooting of another teen in northeast Charlotte.

Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said they arrested a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old on Thursday, Aug. 28. Both were charged with first-degree murder, but the 16-year-old was also charged with discharging a weapon into occupied property.

The arrest came more than a week after 16-year-old Tyshaun Lamont Stokes was found shot inside a home on Lambeth Drive near North Tryon Street in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 17.

Stokes was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects’ identities will not be released because of their age.
