HARRISON COUNTY, TEXAS - Suspects in a fatal shooting at a convenience store in Louisiana were arrested in Harrison County after a multi-state pursuit and crash, the Ruston, Louisiana Police Department said.

Virgil Tyrone Mack Jr., 31, and Kobe Tyrell Mack, 20, both of Dubach, Louisiana, have both been charged with murder, according to Harrison County jail records.

Ruston police said Kourtney Carday Douglass was also arrested in connection with the crime. Harrison County jail records show Douglass is charged with evading arrest detention with a vehicle.

The Ruston Police Department said officers were called around 11:50 p.m. Thursday to the USA Travel Plaza convenience store at 2500 W. Alabama Ave. for a shooting.

Officers found Ontario Spivey, 35, of Ruston dead at the scene.

Ruston police said investigators were able to identify both the suspect and suspect’s vehicle through video surveillance, and a Grambling city police officer was also able to identify the suspect as Virgil Mack.

Police issued a BOLO alert, and then used license plate reader technology to determine Virgil Mack’s escape route, Ruston police said. The car was found traveling west on Interstate 20.

Ruston police notified Louisiana State Police, and a state trooper with Troop G attempted a traffic stop — but Virgil Mack fled and initiated a pursuit.

Ruston police said the chase continued into Texas, where the suspect vehicle crashed in Marshall.
