New York City police seek two armed thieves who stole $200K in jewlery
Two men posing as New York City Housing Authority workers snagged some $200,000 worth of jewelry from a 25-year-old woman inside her Brooklyn home, cops said Monday.
The thieves got inside the home pretending to be NYCHA employees around 8:45 a.m. Aug. 11 near Sutter and Euclid Aves. at the Cypress Hills houses, flashing firearms at the woman once inside. The frauds then took off with some $7,000 in cash and the stash of expensive jewelry.
The. woman was not injured in the jarring encounter. The thieves remain on the loose.
One of the men was wearing a green sweatshirt and sweatpants; the other was wearing a blue sweater, cops said.
A NYCHA spokesperson said all employees are required to identify themselves before entering an apartment and to wear an ID at all times when they’re at a development.
