BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Edvin Giovanni Ceron-Reyes, 37, an illegal alien and Guatemalan citizen, in Cumberland, Maryland, March 31, after he was transferred to ICE custody by the Western Correctional Facility. Ceron has been convicted of attempted first-degree murder.

Ceron entered the United States on an unknown date at an unknown location without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by an immigration official.

The Howard County Police Department arrested and charged Ceron with attempted first-degree murder July 7, 2011. On that same day, ICE Baltimore lodged an immigration detainer with the Howard County Detention Center. The Circuit Court for Howard County convicted Ceron of two counts of attempted first-degree murder Jan. 19, 2012, and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.

ICE Baltimore issued Ceron a final order of removal order Sept. 13, 2013.

The Western Correctional Institution transferred custody of Ceron to ICE Baltimore March 31. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal from the United States to Guatemala.
