HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA - A Madison woman was arrested in Limestone County after allegedly shooting someone on Sunday night.
Limestone County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Stewart Road in Tanner regarding a reported shooting.
When deputies arrived, they determined an altercation had taken place where someone had been shot.
The victim was airlifted to a medical facility for treatment, and the suspect, 40-year-old Lakeshia Renee Peoples, fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Investigators developed information that led to a search warrant for a home on Arbor Ridge in Madison.
On Monday morning, the warrant was executed, and Peoples was located in the home.
She was arrested and charged with Assault - 1st Degree. She is now being held in the Limestone County Detention Facility; her bond will be set at a later time.
