WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that officers arrested a third suspect in a fatal shooting that happened in 2024.
On Nov. 8, 2024, around 6:55 a.m., MPD officers responded to the 2600 block of Dunbar Road. Southeast after someone reported finding human remains.
Police found “male human remains in a state of decomposition.” An autopsy determined that the victim’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
MPD identified the victim as 18-year-old Alexander Ariel Pavon-Rios of Northwest, D.C.

On March 16, MPD arrested 25-year-old Miguel Antonio Hernandez-Orantez of Northeast, D.C.
Police then arrested 29-year-old Antonio Benahias Morales of Capitol Heights, Md., on March 18.
On Sept. 16, MPD arrested 21-year-old Angel Manfredi Campos-Melendez of Morningside, Md.
All three men were charged with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated).
